May 1990

RECENT FIRST TEAM FORM.
"Hello and welcome to alas the final column of the official football season.
By the time you get to read this, the First Team will have completed their fixture schedule and will probably have finished somewhere below mid-table position. Never-the-less, a good attempt in their first season in Division One.
RECENT RESERVE TEAM FORM.
The Reserves have had a couple of stumbles in their run in for promotion - drastically losing at home to bottom of the table Payhembury, and then dropping a point to lowly Silverton. But they have since bounced back by winning 6-2 away to rivals The Flying Horse but they need maximum points from their last two games to stay in the hunt. Both games are at home - on Saturday 5 May 1990 versus North Tawton and Bank Holiday Monday (Monday 28 May 1990) against Honiton Thirds.
RECENT SUNDAY TEAM FORM.
Last month I went along to watch the Sunday XI play The Rowdies (both rivals for the Runners-Up spot) and our lads ran out easy winners by 5-1. Barry is, I'm sure, very happy that his lads finally did the business after a mid-season lull and will gain promotion to the top flight.
RECENT JUNIOR TEAMS' FORM.
I would like to congratulate the Buckland's three junior sides whom have all done the club proud by reaching their respective cup finals.
Keith Hawkins' Under-15s face Broadmeadow, Gordon Middlemass' Under-14s play Torquay United and Frank Burley's Under-13s will take on Kingskerswell. All these finals will be played at Plainmoor during the week of May 7-12 and we wish them all the very best of luck.
Well, that's it for 1989/90. I'm havinga well-earned break for a while but I'll see you again when the 1990/91 season begins.
Bye for now."
