March 1990

RECENT FIRST TEAM FORM.
"Once again not much action since the last issue thanks to the prolonged bad weather.
The First eleven only played two games, home and away against Exeter St.Thomas Reserves, and both ending in draws, leaving the lads looking for their first victory since the 1-0 win against Lapford (Saturday 9 December 1989) - probably the longest spell since joining theDevon and Exeter League.
RECENT RESERVE TEAM FORM.
The Reserves have also had a quiet spell playing their first game on Saturday 17 February 1990 for some time. Sadly they lost 4-0 away to the division leaders, Dawlish Villa. However, at the time of going to press, they are still in second place in their table.
RECENT JUNIOR TEAMS' FORM.
Talking of bad weather, I would like to sing the praises of our much criticised (by other clubs) pitch at Sandringham.
Last weekend (Sunday 18 February 1990) our juniors played and won all three of their scheduled games - at a time when few games were played elsewhere, bringing smiles to Keith, Gordon Middlemass and Frank Burley's faces.
OTHER NEWS.
Thanks to everyone who helped or supported the last three fund raisers -
The Jumble Sale held at Kingskerswell on Saturday 3 February 1990,
The Skittles Night held at The Keyberry on Saturday 4 February 1990 and
The Race Night also held at The Kyberry on Friday 16 February 1990.
Lastly, I hope you will get to read this last item (and the Editor doesn't cut it) as it is about our 'MegaBucks' main man, Martin (Underwood).
I know from talking to others that we all feel he is doing a great job. I know that a great deal of his spare time goes into preparing each issue which is eagerly awaited by a broad section of club members.
So thanks Martin. It is something that the club has tried to do for some time and now that you've got it off the ground, it is becoming a great success.
By the way, anyone who wants to contribute to the production of MegaBucks, please contact Martin (see Rear Cover).
See you all in April."
