RECENT FIRST TEAM FORM.
"It is with mixed feelings that I write this month's column as the Fist eleven are slipping back into their Jekyll and Hyde mood with a very poor performance at home to London and Manchester, losing 5-0, their worst defeat since joining the Devon and Exeter League three years ago. This follows just seven days after holding runaway leaders Offwell Rangers (away) in which they played their hearts out.
What makes it hard for managers is how 13 players can be so good one week and the same 13 so poor the next.
RECENT RESERVE TEAM FORM.
Better news for the Reserves. They are sitting nicely in third spot, at the time of going to press, and are playing with much more consistency than their 'Seniors'.
The club's top senior scorer, Robbie Byrne, was on target again in the 7-4 win at Silverton but hat-trick hero Paul Hayes is running him close.
RECENT JUNIOR TEAMS' FORM.
All the junior sides are doing well with the Under-14s and 15s both leading their divisions. The Under-13s are in the top four which is a pleasing sight for all Buckland die hards.
The Sunday XI are also doing well and hopefully will gain promotion to the top flight at the end of the season.
OTHER NEWS.
A special message from Under-14s manager Gordon Middlemass, and indeed from all of us at the club, as we wish Steven 'Billy' Holmes a speedy recovery after breaking a bone in his leg in the dismal game against London and Manchester.
See you all in March."
